The WAT-AAH! Challenge Results: Minnesota (2009)

Jenna- A Mom's Balancing Act- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her daughter. "When Kaelyn was younger, it was much easier to get her to drink water. As she's gotten older, I find it's a struggle to get her to want anything but milk and juice."

The Set Up...

We simply placed the four bottles of WAT-AAH! in our fridge next to regular bottled water, sodas and sugary juices. We let our two year old daughter Kaelyn choose what she wanted to drink.
The Result...

Without a second thought she went straight for the WAT-AAH! I was shocked. She normally would be begging for milk or juice. She immediately grabbed for the "pink" WAT-AAH! saying "ooo...pink".

After taking a drink she said "It's great!" It was wonderful as a mother to see my little girl so thrilled to be drinking water...a beverage that was not an easy one to get her to drink in the past.

Kaelyn is proof, along with the other 1600+ children who have taken the challenge, that the kid-friendly and very appealing WAT-AAH! design, name and logo really does help to encourage kids to drink water over other sugary drinks.

Brianne - Just Trying To Save Money - Took the WAT-AAH! Challenge with her daughters.

The Set up...

With all the choices out there of kids drinks, it is hard to get them to drink more water. Soda, fruit juice, lemonade, punches, flavored water, all filled with sugar and no nutritional value. My girls are pretty good about drinking water but I do tend to see them "like" drinks that have fun catchy logos on them. So when asked to try out WAT-AAH!, my first thought was what a interesting name and such a fun logo!!"

The Results...

"My girls and I tried WAT-AAH! and I was very impressed. It tastes just like water, no funny tastes, just plain, clean water!! But I think the most important thing was that my girls thought the bottle was so cool, making them want me to buy more!"

"They carried that bottle of water around the whole day. They also sported the tattoos around for a few days, as you can see!!"

Jessica - And Then There Were 4 - Took the WAT-AAH! Challenge with her son.

The Set up...

"Cohen was SO excited when our WAT-AAH! came in the mail! Even the box has the little boy's face screaming on it! :)"

The Results...

"He thought he was so funny! And he didn't even want me to put them in the fridge to cool down! He wanted to drink out of the awesome bottle right then! Of course, I let him! I'd Never say no to drinking water, especially WAT-AAH!"

"Then he was stacking them like bowling pins, knocking them over and cracking up! haha!"

"I DO believe the verdict in our house is that we all love WAT-AAH!"

Amy- Harvest for Tomorrow- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her son.

The Set Up...

I have a 7-1/2-year-old son and as soon as he saw the box he asked excitedly "Is this for me?" He did not know that the package, on the inside, contained water because he LOVED the appearance of the outside package and apparently with the display of the box, he knew it was geared towards him! A+ for that! Then we open the package - well he actually rips into it because he is so excited! And he sees the bottles "WOW!" He was intrigued.

The Results...

He immediately grabbed the green bottle (energy - go figure him grabbing the one marked energy)...He surely doesn't need any extra energy! lol...Green is his favorite color! So he took the lid off and gulped it! He kept saying "this is my energy drink". He was liking it. He toted it around with him everywhere he went! I was thinking that this was amazing because he is always wanting Dr. Pepper - not water!!

Another day goes by and I go to get my camera ready so I could take some pictures of the product. "Uh-oh"....where did all of the WAT-AAH! go? It was already gone! Guess where I found the empty bottles? On his dresser in his room beside of his computer! So needless to say, my kid LOVED this!

Laura- 1 Mom of 5- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her 5 little ones.

The Set Up...

When I got the package, I set the WAT-AAH! bottles in the fridge next to the milk and juice and then didn't say anything to anybody. I wanted to see what their reaction would be.

The Results...

They ALL grabbed the WAT-AAH! (quickly, because they wanted to get their favorite color!)....and that's 5 kids we're talking about. Not one of them reached for milk or juice when there was new WAT-AAH! in the fridge. :)

My 10 year old daughter was so smitten with the packaging that she insisted on refilling her WAT-AAH! bottle up with filtered water from the sink. You guys definitely did something right where the design of the bottle is concerned! I can honestly say that my kids loved it!!

Brandy- The Buzz- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her daughter. "Well my lovely 2 yr old doesn't know what soda is she does know what PEPSI is but not by the bottle."

The Result...

My 2yr old did grab the WAT-AAH, She is very animated so she happily made some funny faces to copy the boy on the bottles!

When asked if she liked the WAT-AAH she grinned and said "good" and then I asked her what she was drinking and she would copy me and say WAT-AAH... which was pretty darn funny.

I tried the WAT-AAH, and had my hubs try it too, Hubs said it was good and he would drink it, but not instead of soda. I honestly would drink WAT-AAH it's a water that is suppose to have extras in it for your body, and again Water is my favorite drink, so we can now say so is WAT-AAH.

Sarah- Caiafa Craziness- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her kids.

The Set Up...

I placed it in the fridge and the kids have gone to town. It was placed strategically on the shelf in their view.

The Results...

I snuck up on my son who looked back and realized he was caught.

My kids have loved them. I had one out of the box that was sent. They have drank the rest. They have really enjoyed them. The pictures on the bottle are fun. We drank I think the blue one and it had a comment on the side that "we are swimming pools with legs"

My kids have been walking around stating the face. Another fact 4 of these bottles a day and you have met your quota of water for the day. We will be stocking up on WAT-AAH!

Challenger #174, Missouri

Stefanie- The Parent Support Space- Understands the importance water plays in keeping her children healthy. "Hydration is extremely important for everyone but especially kids since they can get dehydrated more easily... My oldest daughter has ADD/ADHD so drinking water is an important thing for her to do on a daily basis. However, getting her to drink anything other than Kool Aid or soda is nearly impossible!" So she decided to take The WAT-AAH! Challenge.

The Results...

When we received WAT-AAH! I have to admit that I was a little sceptical about it. I thought, ‘it’s water…in a cool bottle…my kids aren’t gonna go for this.’ But, they did! My kids couldn’t wait to open them and taste this ‘totally awesome water'. Why you ask? Because the bottle looked fun and inviting! SCORE! Finally something cool and kid friendly that will get my kids to drink more water every day. They drank it and loved it.

When I asked my oldest why she liked it so much she said, Well it tastes like regular water but the bottle is cool! Ok I hear ya, ‘so if it tastes like normal water then why does she like it? Did she ask for more?’ Well kids like things that are fun, cool and kid friendly. The bottle is very inviting with fun colors and design, so even if it tastes like normal water she is drinking it and yes, asking for more. As long as she drinks it, likes it and it gets her motivated to keep drinking water then I’m A-Ok with it!

Jayne- Misplaced City Girl- Took The WAT-AAH! Challenge with her family.

The Results...

Alec is my 18-year-old senior high school student who is on the go all the time. He is not much of a soda fan but he loves milk and juice. Drinking water is something I had never seen him do, voluntarily, before. When our WAT-AAH! arrived, he got into that box really fast. He loved them and all four bottles were gone within 2 hours!!
